C35
C35 is a metal layer based on HDP (High-Density-Plasma) technology developed by swiss-PVD Coating AG. C35 features a high microhardness of 35-40 GPa, a particularly interesting texture, high density combined with a low rate of layer growth defects, and a very fine microstructure. Machining aluminum, non-ferrous metals (copper, nickel, lead, tin, zinc) and the resulting alloys, such as brass (also lead-free), is made considerably easier.
A key feature of the C35 coating is its excellent polishability for applications requiring further treatment. This makes it possible to achieve very good surface qualities. Due to its low chemical affinity and smooth surfaces, C35 is recommended for applications where cold soldering and lubrication are the dominant wear mechanisms, and where non-stick behavior is of key importance.
